CIG Companies and our partners are building and developing 40 hotels, which will be handled in project blocks of 10-20 hotels at a time. CIG is planning on issuing notes or bonds to fund approximately 10 hotels every 4-6 months; both CIG and our partners are looking to complete the first 2 blocks of hotels in 2023. The project owner, a large and respected flag hotel chain, is launching a new brand, and CIG is assisting with the scaling, development, and funding of the hotels. The total value of the project is expected to reach over $1,330,000,000, with the estimated start-to-finish construction cost being estimated at $790,000,000. The whole project should take about 5 years to complete, with each hotel taking roughly 12-14 months to complete (construction to opening) and 3-6 months to stabilize. The hotel sector had the strongest performance in all the hospitality markets during the height of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
